Two hurt in motorcycle-car accident in Lincoln Way

Forty-two-year-old Bradley Freeman and 13-year-old Zachary Freeman, both residents of Grimes, Iowa, were hospitalized after the Harley Davidson motorcycle they were on was hit by a Ford Contour last Sunday, August 30 along Lincoln Way in Ames.

According to Ames Police Department investigations commander Jason Tuttle, the Freemans were headed east on Lincoln Way when 19-year-old Nebraska resident Jesse Johnson, who was headed west on Lincoln Way, attempted to turn left onto Sheldon, causing the collision.

The Freemans’ Harley Davidson incurred around $3,000 in total damage while Johnson’s Ford Contour incurred around $1,500 in total damage.

Tuttle noted that accidents along Lincoln Way are prevalent since the road is the busiest in Ames.
