Driver and passenger hurt in Galena motorcycle accident

Residents of Dubuque, Iowa Matthew Kutsch, 29, and Hannah Wemett, 27, sustained injuries in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident on June 15 in Galena, Illinois, reported.

According to a report by the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, Kutsch was headed north on North Menominee Road just after 10:30 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle around a curve, resulting in the motorcycle crashing into a ditch off the road. Wemett was a passenger on the motorcycle.

Kutsch was taken to UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital while Wemett was brought to Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque before being airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Finley did not provide information about the victims’ conditions. For its part, the University of Iowa claimed there was no available information regarding Wemett’s status.
