Man sentenced after Davenport fatal motorcycle accident

Sixty-one-year-old Robert Aguirre, who was found guilty of homicide by vehicle by operating while intoxicated in November, was recently sentenced to spend up to 25 years in prison for his part in the deadly Davenport, Iowa motorcycle collision.

According to police reports, Aguirre was driving a car while under the influence of excessive amounts of alcohol when he turned into the path of an oncoming motorcycle driven by 24-year-old Teangelo Garrard, who was riding along West Locust Street in Davenport in September 2014.

Garrard was transported to a local hospital after the collision, where he eventually succumbed to his fatal injuries.
