25-year-old Sibley resident Levi Christensen was injured after the motorcycle he was operating collided with an SUV driven by 17-year-old Sergeant Bluff resident Virginia Reyes in Osceola County on Monday, July 27.
Christensen was driving a 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle north towards County Road L-40 while Reyes was operating a 1999 Jeep Cherokee heading east towards County Road A-34.
According to preliminary investigations made by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, Reyes stopped at the intersection of County Roads L-40 and A-34, and presumably thinking that the intersection was a four-way stop, pulled into the path of Christensen’s motorcycle. Christensen, seeing the SUV that suddenly pulled out in front of him, tried to hit the brakes, managed to get the bike to slide on its left side, and was forced to collide with the rear side of the SUV. He was taken to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.
