Sixty-one-year-old Robert Aguirre is facing charges of homicide by vehicle, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, failure to yield at a left turn, and having no insurance, after he was arrested for a vehicular accident that claimed the life of an O’Reilly Auto Parts store employee in Davenport, Iowa.
According to the Davenport Police Department, Aguirre had been operating a westbound 2009 Saturn Aura XE in the 2800 block of West Locust Street when he made an unprotected turn into the path of the motorcycle Teangelo Garrard had been driving at around 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 20.
Garrard was rushed to the Genesis Medical Center at East Rusholme Street, but died from his injuries. Aguirre was treated at Genesis Medical Center West-Central Park for minor injuries, then booked at the Scott County Jail. He was released on bond.
